Aeronautical Development Agency

In order to handle the nation’s Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) program, the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) under the Department of Defence Research and Development (DR&D) of India’s Ministry of Defence was founded in Bangalore in 1984. It has created the HAL Tejas and is now working on the HAL TEDBF, HAL AMCA, and DRDO Ghatak.

Aeronautical Development Agency – History:

The Ministry of Defence, Government of India, Department of Defence Research and Development, Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), is a Society.
to carry out research in aeronautical science, design, and development of various types of aircraft and rotorcraft, and to assist, promote, direct, manage, coordinate, and carry out such research.
The Society’s initial assignment was to design and create a multipurpose Light Combat Aircraft to suit Indian Air Force specifications.
While working on the LCA development project, ADA has also been tasked with conducting studies for the Project Definition Phase (PDP) of the naval LCA version. Efforts are also being made to capitalize on the resources generated by the LCA program in order to generate income.

Organisation of ADA

The President of the Society and its General Body is Raksha Manthri. Director General of ADA at the moment is Dr. Satheesh Reddy, Secretary of DD R&D and Chairman of DRDO. He is also the Chairman of the Governing Body.

With ADA serving as the nodal organization and more than 100 work-centres dispersed across the nation participating, the LCA is being planned and developed.
In the development of LCA, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is the main collaborator. As technology development partners, a number of establishments from the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), CSIR, other government laboratories, PSUs, private businesses, academic institutions, Indian Air Force, and government certifying agencies are taking part in the program.
