Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC)

The State of Uttarakhand came into existence on 09th November 2000 under the Reorganisation of Uttar Pradesh Act 2000. The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission was Constituted under the provisions of Article 315 of the Constitution of India by the Governor of Uttarakhand vide Notification No. 247/1Karmik 2001 dated 14 March 2001(Annexure1). The Commission came into existence on 15 May 2001. The sanctioned strength of the Commission is the Chairman & the Six Members(Annexure 2).

The working of Uttarakhand Public Service Commission is regulated by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission Procedure and Conduct of Business Rules 2013{ Framed by the Lok sewa Ayog Uttarakhand under section 11 of U.P. State Lok sewa Ayog(Prakriya ka viniyaman) Adhiniyam, 1985 Uttarakhand Anukulan awam Upantaran Adesh, 2002.

The state organization authorized to administer the Civil Services Examination for entry-level employment to the different Civil Services of the state of Uttarakhand is the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission or UKPSC.

The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission Procedure and Conduct of Business Rules 2013, which were created by the Public Service Commission Uttarakhand under section 11 of the U.P., regulates how the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission operates.
