A Public Service Commission is established for the Union and for each state under Articles 315 to 323 of Part XIV of the constitution, titled Services Under the Union and the States.
On April 1, 1937, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) was established with the primary objective of hiring individuals for the state’s numerous services. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Regulation, 1976, governs the commission.
One of the main objectives of the political movement was the Indianization of the higher Civil Services, which forced the British Indian Government to contemplate creating a Public Service Commission to oversee hiring for its positions in the region. The Government of India Act of 1935 made it possible for the first time to establish provincial Public Service Commissions. On April 1, 1937, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission was established, with Prayagraj serving as its administrative center. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Regulation, 1976 also governs how the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission operates.
